"The Equalizer"

"Thou hast with thine arm redeemed thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah." (Psalms 77:15) Now I know something about how God uses people, it's really not about who we are or what we are capable of; it's about what God does through those that make themselves available for Him to work through. We are really not about all that! It's God who does the work; it's God who actually gets the job done; we are just the tools in His mighty hands. Looking at the two characters mentioned, Jacob and Joseph, you can see how this works in the way they were both used of God. One had no clue who he was, or how important he would be; while the other knew all along he was important, he just didn't know how it would all come about. We are all equally important in God's eye, because we each play a part in His work. That's the key to understanding our role, that it's His work and not ours. One plants, one waters, one will harvest; but it is God that makes it all happen, He's in control, don't you know... "I will tell of the LORD'S unfailing love. I will praise the LORD for all he has done. I will rejoice in his great goodness to Israel, which he has granted according to his mercy and love. He said, "They are my very own people. Surely they will not betray me again." And he became their Savior. In all their suffering he also suffered, and he personally rescued them. In his love and mercy he redeemed them through all the years." (Isaiah 63:7-9) NLT
