"God's Word"

As we move from God's creation, which was made for His glory and for goodness, we come to the perfect law of God. There are some among us who discount God's law as being something that was left on the other side of the cross, not to be relevant in the new covenant that was established by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. I must beg to differ in this line of thinking, because God's law is perfect in every way; so why would He take away something that has so much benefit to us and to our relationship with Him and with each other? Jesus had never said that the law was canceled out by His new covenant, but rather that the law was fulfilled in it, and that by the act of love was the law now established as just that, an action of love! Every article and precept of God's law was given man for his own good, that if a man should follow them, then they were better off than if they were not to follow them; besides the challenge of keeping the law, something that none of us is capable of doing, just striving to adhere them is beneficial to the life we live, no matter what part of it we might not be able to keep. It is the simple act of wanting to do what God has said we should do; not because we might have to do it, but because He has said so, we should aim to please in every area of our life. I know that we are in for some interesting discussion in these next several verses, because there are so many churches that have made God's law out to be something of the past, and have placed it in the category of temple sacrifices, circumcising, and keeping the Sabbath; all of which were Old Testament requirements and should not be categorized in the same light as what God requires for actions of love to one another and for Him. In light of what is taking place in our world today, we that are called to God must be diligent in prayer for the pressing evil that needs to be pushed back, and praying for revival to take place in our homes, cities and countries; expecting God to work in us and through us to achieve His perfect plan...Look up; for our redemption is drawing near!
