"The Giver" -2

"Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: but made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross." (Philippians 2:6-8) If you want to really get the proof of who Christ Jesus was, there are plenty of verses available to point you in the right direction. But if you wanted to see why He had to make Himself so humble, like as in the form of a man, then you must realize what was to have taken place, and how it was that He would be placed upon a cross. No man, Jew or otherwise, would have placed Jesus upon the cross having known who He really was; and to think otherwise would only be foolishness. It was partly for this reason that He laid aside His Godly form; that those who were to crucify Him on the cross, would do so willingly, thinking that He was just a man who claimed to be something that He was not; thus the reason for His request, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do". The plan was really quite simple, but also, so very complex! Simple, because of who man is, and how they would react to Him; complex, because of who He was, and all that was involved in Him becoming a man; something which we will really never fully understand until we stand with Him in glory. And yet, there is another reason also that He had to come in the form of a man, besides just to humbly be sacrificed; and it was because man had to be redeemed; being in the form of a man, He became Messiah, the delegate of the Father. The Messiah was the one who was to come, and to deliver His people from bondage; the one that many of the Jewish people and others are still waiting for to come; yet He came!!! Jesus Christ was not half man and half God; He was wholly man and wholly God!!! This is something which Jesus hinted to those that knew the Old Testament writings, as He said, "Search the Scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of Me." (John 5:39) The redeemer was standing among them, and they knew Him not!!! What a simple task to pull off with man, for He goes on to say, "I am come in My Father's name, and ye receive Me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye shall receive. How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?" (John 5:43 & 44) Typical man seeking man's honour...
