"That Big Question"

"And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery, and when they had set her in the midst, they say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act." (John 8:3-4 KJV)

""I warned the proud, 'Stop your boasting!' I told the wicked, 'Don't raise your fists! Don't raise your fists in defiance at the heavens or speak with such arrogance.'"" (Psalm 75:4-5 NLT)

In case you were expecting to hear about this woman, that is not the big question that is being talked about; the bigger question is the arrogance of these scribes and Pharisees, who acknowledge that Jesus is one that teaches the things of God, but still plan and attempt to destroy Him! What was going on inside their head's? What might have caused them to be so overrun with arrogance, that they cannot see that God was being represented, right in their midst?

As it is, those that believe that they are untouchable or more righteous than others, they are the ones that seem to miss the arrogance of their own understanding, of who they are, what they represent, and who it is that they will ultimately answer to. We should never think of ourselves as being above anyone else. We all have the very same thing in common! We are all born in sin, subject to temptation, and in need of a Savior!

Besides praying for our children, we need to also be praying for our Pastors! If you have a Pastor who is making a difference and is being used of God to shakeup the camp of the enemy and is tearing down strongholds, then that man of God needs to be constantly prayed for! There is a big bullseye on his back and the enemy is waiting for just the right moment to strike.

In this situation, the scribes and Pharisees thought that they would have the upper hand. John does not share on what Jesus was teaching, but whatever He was teaching on, He was interrupted by these arrogant leaders, who felt that their mission was more important than His. Little did they know, but they were not only being controlled by their own arrogance, but they were filled with hate!

We all know what hate does and why it is so hard to overcome...

"When it was time for the harvest, Cain presented some of his crops as a gift to the LORD. Abel also brought a gift - the best of the firstborn lambs from his flock. The LORD accepted Abel and his gift, but he did not accept Cain and his gift. This made Cain very angry, and he looked dejected. "Why are you so angry?" the LORD asked Cain. "Why do you look so dejected? You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master."" (Genesis 4:3-7 NLT)
