"Can I Get a Witness" - Too

"And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst." (John 8:9 KJV)

"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do." (Hebrews 4:12-13 KJV)

Okay then, now that we have determined God is quite justified to do whatever He wants, because He owns all things, knows all things, and can do all things, what might have been demonstrated here in this story? Before you close the book on this, somewhat seeming unimportant contact with the Judge of all creation, take a little closer look at what might have been discovered.

First of all, those that were of the cloth, being the so-called keepers of the law, were cut to the heart by the words Jesus spoke! Matthew Henry shows a very direct connection between Jesus' writing on the floor, and the hand-writing on the wall; as Belshazzar was frightened, so too were these Scribes and Pharisees! Not to make a big deal about what this indicates, but when the Judge of the soul speaks, the soul must react and will take on a reaction!

I know it might not seem as though it is all that important, but then again, what keeps the world from coming to Jesus in the first place?

Secondly, there is the woman; left all alone, no accusers remained, and she is left with only One to judge her, Jesus! Come on, tell me you don't see the connection...

"This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth. But if we are living in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. If we claim to have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts." (1 John 1:5-10 NLT)
