"Flicker"

"And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done?" (John 7:31 KJV)

"And when he comes, he will open the eyes of the blind and unplug the ears of the deaf. The lame will leap like a deer, and those who cannot speak will sing for joy! Springs will gush forth in the wilderness, and steams of water will water the wasteland." (Isaiah 35:5-6 NLT)

I know the hope that is within us, as we feel anguished, almost as if there is soon going to be relief, yet soon just seems to never come. But this is what endurance is, the ability to withstand, while standing strong, and never letting quit become an option! Which part of belief holds you to your faith?

As I have previously mentioned, there is still a longing in my heart for my wife to be healed, because I know in my heart that God can, if He so chooses to do so. That said, I also know that whatever healing He does, in this life, is only temporary and short lived. The real healing for us all will be realized when we are transformed into our new bodies, that will never be sick, never be tormented, and will never die!

To this point, I feel that there is something to be expected by seeing miracles taking place, as it could be a sign of God working in our lives, calling us to pay more attention to what God is saying to us, or making us realize that He is really there. However, there is something more important that miracles, as if they hold the keys to the true acts of God; there must also be confirmation of His word! Just because a miracle is taking place, does not mean that the person or persons performing the miracle represents God.

Jesus came performing miracles, but that is not why He came! There is a much more important reason that Jesus came, than giving sight to be blind, hearing to the deaf, leaping for joy to the lame, or a voice to sing to those that cannot speak. He came to save our eternal souls...

"With this news, strengthen those who have tired hands, encourage those who have weak knees. Say to those with fearful hearts, "Be strong, and do not fear, for God is coming to destroy your enemies. He is coming to save you."" (Isaiah 35:3-4 NLT)
