"Religiosity"

"Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes." (S.O.S. 2:15)

It just so happens, this is the only verse within this Book that I have highlighted in my Bible. Not quite sure when this was done, or why; but if I had to pick a time, it would have been between January 22nd and February 2nd of 1989; which was when I first wrote some important messages to myself at the beginning of this Bible. It was also the same time I was reading the book, Counter Attack, because I also referenced, "Polar Bear Alert, " within the note on January 22nd.
For those that might not know what that means, it is a term Jay Carty uses to reference the verse from 2 Corinthians 10:5, which says, "We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." (NIV) I usually don't make it a habit of quoting the NIV, but it just seemed to fit. It fits because it uses "We" in reference to the fact that there is more than one of us, meaning that we must depend upon the Holy Spirit that lives within us in order to get things done!
Jesus referred to the Holy Spirit as the Helper, or Comforter, which is to be the way for us to overcome temptations and to find peace in times of utter hopelessness. Believe it or not, but things just are not going to be perfect all of the time; just in case you have not figured that out. But, we have something that the world does not even understand, because they cannot even begin to realize where it comes from; because it is not of this world!
  There's the rub...

"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through the Lord Jesus Christ: by whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulation also; knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope: and hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us." (Romans 5:1-5)
