"Possession and Tenure" -Too

"My beloved is mine, and I am his: he feedeth among the lilies." (S.O.S. 2:16)

As far as the church is concerned, we are all "the lilies" which He feeds among, literally, that means that He takes pleasure walking among His church. As Matthew Henry reminds us, "for he walks in the midst of the golden candlesticks." (Revelation 2:1) We should not feel any less important in the least as we consider ourselves as a member of the Body of Christ; it is more about us having a place based upon what He has made us to be, than us being who we are; which we will be fully aware of, once we are all gathered together in Heaven.
Which reminds me of something I discovered when I was first born again: the church was a place where I felt fulfilled and where I belonged. It is where, I discovered unity and being a part of something much bigger than myself. We must realize how important it is to be part of the Body, because the lesser is no less than the greater, and every member is just as important as another. It is nice to be part of something that has something in common!
Besides that, the "lilies" also speak of instruments made for worship or music. Whether we know it or not, we were created to worship God! We might not understand what that actually means, but it is a lot like the word "reverence" that Paul uses to express how the wife is to "reverence her husband." (Ephesians 5:33) It is a word that refers to someone that is struck with amazement, or of those that are struck by strange sights or occurrences; not exactly what you thought, but none the less, what you were created for, to be in awe of God!
Don't loose that! Because it is what happens to us each and every time we realize how much He loves us; with all of our failures and iniquities, He loves us still, all the same! Be so very thankful  that you are part of such a diverse group that all have one basic thing is common: He is ours, and we are His: and He feeds among the Lilies...

"Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was. We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin. And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him. We are sure of this because Christ was raised from the dead, and he will never die again. Death no longer has any power over him. When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God. So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus." (Romans 6:5-11) NLT
