"God Works in Many Ways!" -2

"Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the LORD." (Psalms 107:43)

You see, if there is not new spiritual birth, then the message of the cross just does not make sense; the Bible says it is foolishness to those that perish. So, in the eyes of those who think such a thing as that, we who hold to the power of the cross are fools, and much of what we say has little or no effect. This is why it is so important that we proclaim the Scriptures, not just give explanations of what we believe, but tell them and show them what God says. The message of the cross is spectacular and life changing, there is more power in the message of the cross than any testimony we might have to offer, because nothing comes close to power that was displayed in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ! Talk about an example of God working in a tragedy! The Lord's death was messed up and a terrible experience for anyone that loved Him to watch and to stand by while they had their Lord on public display. What could have been in their hearts and minds as they witnessed it happening? Did they wonder why God could allow it to happen? Talk about God working in many ways, that was about as messed up as it gets, yet the work God was doing changed the world for ever! I heard a message yesterday from Pastor Jack, and I was almost to my next appointment and had to pull over and get my tears to stop flowing from my eyes. He was talking about a teacher who instructed her kids to go out and find things to put in the plastic Easter eggs she had given them, and what she asked them to put in the egg was anything that reminded them of new life. She gathered them up and put them in a basket, and one by one opened them up and presented the item for all to see. There was a leaf, a butterfly, a flower, and even a rock; but one of the eggs was empty, and she had to ask who's it was and why they did not understand her instructions. The boy who turned in the empty egg, said, "It is empty because the tomb Jesus rose from was empty, and He has given us eternal life!" As if that was not enough, Pastor Jack went on to explain that the boy died six months later; and several of the kids that were at his funeral placed empty eggs on his casket, because the box was empty. I'm sorry, it's happening again, I need to pull over...

"This is what the LORD says: "Don't let the wise boast in their wisdom, or the powerful boast in their power, or the rich boast in their riches. But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone: that they truly know me and understand that I am the LORD who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that I delight in these things. I, the LORD, have spoken!"" (Jeremiah 9:23-24) NLT
