"Needy Response" -2

"When Thou saidest, Seek ye My face; my heart said unto Thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek." (Psalms 27:8)  After having understanding as to why our heart needs to independently seek God's face, we must then make that determined approach to do so. Yes, I am well aware of the fact that Jesus has taken down the barrier that stood in the way from us entering into the 'Holy Place', but our desire must still be to enter in. This is what God is calling us into; as a child in need of love and nourishment, we are to desire to be in the presence of God's holiness, because it is only there that we find the warmth and comfort we need for our souls. This too is something that we have because of our relationship with Jesus Christ, and it is only by our hearts being converted and our relationship restored with God by His Spirit dwelling inside of us, that we can even begin to see our need for to seek His face. It is when we draw into God's presence that our sinfulness and our darkness is revealed, and when we can begin to acknowledge our great need for God's mercy and grace. Those that do not want to draw into the presence of God, do not want to because they do not want their sins revealed; neither do they desire to come out of the darkness, because they desire the darkness more than they desire to be in God's presence. Therefore, it is a desire that is placed in us by the born again relationship that we have through Jesus Christ; Jesus has put that desire in us, and because it is in us, we must respond on a daily basis. It's not something that we can neglect or think that we can be without; our new life in Christ has needs to sustain it, just as our bodies have needs of food and water; and just because we have matured in the Lord, does not mean we can neglect to nourish our spiritual bodies, just as we cannot neglect to provide food and water to our physical bodies when we grow old. All these reasons for us to come into and to seek to remain in God's presence are things worthy of praising God for, because they are things which He desires for us and has made the way for us to desire them for ourselves! This is not only an invitation made by God for us to seek His face, but it is a commandment that we do so; in other words, He invites us to enter in, and then expects us to do so based upon our will to be there; and just in case we lack what it takes to do so, He has provided us the desire and the way...even us of old age... "Surely as a wife treacherously departeth from her husband, so have ye dealt treacherously with Me, O house of Israel, saith the LORD. A voice was heard upon the high places, weeping and supplications of the children of Israel: for they have perverted their way, and they have forgotten the LORD their God. Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto Thee; for Thou art the LORD our God." (Jeremiah 3:20-22)
