"If Only You Had" - Too

"Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died." (John 11:21 KJV)

""Don't store up treasures here on this earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be."" (Matthew 6:19-21 NLT)

Most of the time, as I feel like there are issues with finances, business, or just about anything else that I feel somewhat dependent on for living, my first reaction is to blame the issue on something that the world is doing, as if the forces around me have caused something to go wrong. It is not my intention to try and fix anything on my own, but it is usually my first reaction to life's routine issues.

I have heard it said, 'If it is something that man can do on his own, then God will not do it.' As I get older, having seen the situations and circumstances turn, amazingly different than I expected, I have come to the realization that this is somewhat a team effort. Not that we can do something out of the ordinary or make things happen, but we can and must be extraordinarily focused on God's will and purposes, because He does everything for His glory!

Taking this back to the start: I am a servant of the LORD; servants don't question God's intentions, but they do look for what He is intending to do! Not that we absolutely know, because we seldom do. But, in most cases, God will let us know what we are to do, as we need to do it; and then what happens after that, is totally up to Him.

Martha might have forgotten, Jesus didn't really need to have been there to heal her brother; He could have healed him from anywhere that He was, with just a word! We always assume God needs to do something a certain way, as if He operates as we do; or as if we see it happening like this, but God is going to do something totally different than we expected He could have done.

Here it is, the thing we fail to understand, time and time again! God does not make mistakes, He is for you, He watches over you, and whatever you are going through, everything happens for His good purpose! Trust God and hold on tight...

"Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for what he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7 NLT)
