"Pay Attention!"

"Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him and keep his saying." (John 8:55 KJV)

"You see, we don't go around preaching about ourselves. We preach that Jesus Christ is Lord, and we ourselves are your servants, for Jesus' sake. For God, who said, "Let there be light in the darkness," has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ. We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves." (2 Corinthians 4:5-7 NLT)

There are just some days when I feel as though I have nothing to say, almost as if it is worthless for me to even open this laptop and start this strange message. And then, there are these weird days, were I feel that I have nothing to say, but I know that God does; and that alone is all that really matters!

I was thinking about another mustard seed Jesus spoke about, saying, "If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed." (Luke 17:6) Remembering back to a certain retreat, maybe thirty years ago, this was one of the topics of discussion during the retreat. Basically, it is almost the same line of thinking, but in simplest form, more precise.

You might have heard the term, "Keep it simple, stupid," which is pretty much that in a nutshell. The simple, is that of our trust and faith in God; the stupid, is us, as we don't know how God is going to do it, but we just know that He can! Basically, the smallest faith, when placed in a very Big God, can pretty much do and see anything!

Regardless of what you might be thinking, Jesus was simply making a point; an undeniable point about the relationship that He has with His Father. In a very similar way, we too can make this exact same point, because we know the Father; which is because, we know the Son, and He has shown Him to us!

If you don't yet know the Father, or don't think that you do, then you must first know and believe in the Son! Jesus was simply pointing out a fact: 'You don't believe in me, so you don't know God!' It really doesn't get much more simple than that...

"All who believe in the Son of God know in their hearts that this testimony is true. Those who don't believe this are actually calling God a liar because they don't believe what God has testified about his Son. And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God's Son does not have life." (1 John 5:10-12 NLT)
