"BETH"

"Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to thy word." (Psalms 119:9)

I was thinking about something that has to do with practice, that it is said that it takes 21 days to establish a habit; not sure how that thought measures up in all of this, because there are 22 letters of this alphabet. Anywho, this deals with the Word of God; a law within itself, in that His word does not change. There is a very strange movement going on here in this nation; it is raising up quickly, but it has taken over forty or fifty years to make it happen. When our country was founded, there was a set of laws that were established to ensure that the people would all have an equal voice, no matter where you lived or how many might live in your particular area. It seems that the previous couple of generations have been given a new way of looking at things. Not that it matters all that much, but we are becoming undone, and no longer giving much attention to the rule of law. If you haven't watched that recent movie called, "Small Foot," it is set up in a way the mocks laws, as if laws are man's way of protecting the next generation; each new kink in the armor creates a new law, which the movies refers to a stones. There was obviously a lot of thought put into what the writers were trying to get across, but when it comes to God's laws, they cannot be overturned by man, they cannot by taken away from or added to, because they are written by God. If I were going to put this verse into a simple illustration for practical use, I would take two very similar verses; one is from the old testament writings, and one from the new. Matthew Henry speaks about man needing to cleanse his way, because his way has been polluted; in other words, there is all kinds of junk in his way of thinking and in his view of God. No matter what we are told, how we are raised, or who teaches us, if we want to truth and nothing but the truth, we need to go to the Word of God...
