"Guiding The Way"

"For this God is our God for ever and ever: He will be our guide even unto death." (Psalms 48:14) To be quick about it, Who will guide them? Who will show them where hope is to be found? Not so long ago, I would have not worried so much about it; after all, as long as you put people around them that have the appearance of being good and God fearing, everything should be okay, right? Not quite sure anymore! There are some really strange people out there; some of which have no care for anyone but themselves when it comes right down to it, especially when you push them the wrong way. The word "guide" that is used in this verse is from the word 'nahag', which surely speaks of guiding, but with more of a driving force. You can get a sense of what this means when you consider the three words which follow "guide", as in, "even unto death"; in other words, the guiding force is driven hard, and is unstoppable! That is the thing about knowing the truth, because if you really know the truth, then nothing can stop you from moving forward. When Jesus spoke of "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:32), the whole point of His message was about being set free from the dominion of sin, of which includes death, as in "You are going to die!" Not me!!! I will not die, because I have been given everlasting life! That is the unstoppable driving force that I am talking about; it is not just a gentle guiding force, it is hard to push against and is sure; just as the word "make" that Jesus uses, as in, "shall make you free", it is an outside force that causes us to be set free, not of ourselves, but something far greater than ourselves. The road is wide to destruction because there are so many way that lead there; and the road is narrow to eternal life because there is only One Way... "For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree; that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might recieve the promise of the Spirit through faith." (Galatians 3:10-14)
