"To Be Or Not To Be"

"There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? LORD, lift Thou up the Light of Thy countenance upon us." (Psalms 4:6) As Simple Jack would say, "But this head movie makes my eyes rain". Really; What are we talking about here? The question is twofold, but the answer is One! "Who will show us any good?" is the question asked by many who say, Where are the children of God? Show me the proof of God in your life, and then I will consider if He is real or not!!! Or, as the question asked in the movie 'Courageous', "Where are you men?" If we are still talking about purpose, then here it would be: To be a Light to those that question for something that is Real!!! This goes back to the question that was asked in verse two: "O ye sons of men, how long will you turn My glory to shame?" What is the reason that we are here, and not already in the presence of God? Because, there are some people, that if they are saved, they should have went home as soon as they were! We are here because we have something to share that we have been given; and if we are not sharing it, then we are putting His glory to shame! "For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain". (Philippians 1:21) This the Apostle Paul writes speaking of his countenance while in prison, and that in and through all things, including that of death, Jesus Christ is to be glorified in his life. If you are a Christian, then you should know right here and now, that there are people around you who are looking for proof in you! Some may have given up, thinking, Really not much there that I want; but it is not to late for you or for them: Where There is Life, There is Hope! And as long as you are still here, then you have something that you need to share!!! Now; as I said before, David has left off addressing just the assembly at the point, and in the first half of this verse, he is addressing both the men and God together. The second part of this verse, he continues praying, and then continues to pray all the way to the end of the Psalm. With that, the second part of this verse is the solution for the problem of what many are asking: Who will show us the way? You know that old saying, "You can talk the talk, but can you walk the walk?" Well, here is the solution: "LORD, lift Thou up the Light of Thy countenance upon us!!!" You do know that we have a Helper to help us achieve this task; Right??? All that we need to do is ask, and He will answer!!! "And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will ye give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: How much more shall your Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him?" (Luke 11:9-13) The bottom line to this problem that we have, is that we really have no excuse whatsoever for the reason that we are not what we should be: "Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot contain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts." (James 4:2-3) BE...
