"The Washing" - Too

"And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing." (John 9:7 KJV)

"This is what the Sovereign LORD says: "Long ago my people chose to live in Egypt. Now they are oppressed Assyria. What is this?" asks the LORD. "Why are my people enslaved again? Those who rule them shout in exultation. My name is blasphemed all day long. But I will reveal my name to my people, and they will come to know its power. Then at last they will recognize that I am the one who speaks to them."" (Isaiah 52:4-6 NLT)

Do you know what I think I miss? I miss the chance to be called forward and kneel before the alter! I know that it doesn't happen much anymore, but it is this, which is by interpretation, Sent! Forgive me again for speaking out of place; but this just seems as if it might be something to talk about.

The writer has made mention of the pool's name for a reason, because there must be some sort of action on the part of someone that participates in believing that Jesus is Lord. Jesus sent this man, this man went; he went prepared to do something that was not allowed, because it was the Sabbath. Yet, he obeyed the Master, the One that made clay for his eyes, on the Sabbath.

Not only did Jesus not have to put the clay of his eyes, He also did not need to tell him to go wash that clay off. It basically was just a chance for this blind man to walk in obedience! To get up from his place of comfort, and to put himself in a place of discomfort, for the sake of being transformed!

Well, that is a pretty deep subject! But it really does feel good to hear God's voice, especially when He instructs us to do something. Which reminds me of something I heard Him say, as I pondered the tithe check I was going to write Saturday morning. I heard Him tell me to write a couple offering checks as well.

My goodness, He is always so good! You must remember this: Tithes are taken off the top, because if you wait to write your tithe check after you pay your bills, then you will not have any tithes to give, let alone, an offering...

"How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel reins! The watchmen shout and sing with joy, for before their very eyes they see the LORD returning to Jerusalem. Let the ruins of Jerusalem break into joyful song, for the LORD has comforted his people. He has redeemed Jerusalem. The LORD has demonstrated his holy power before the eyes of all the nations. All the ends of the earth will see the victory of our God. Get out! Get out and leave your captivity, where everything you touch is unclean. Get out of there and purify yourselves, you who carry home the sacred objects of the LORD. You will not leave in a hurry, running for your lives. For the LORD will go ahead of you; yes, the God of Israel will protect you from behind." (Isaiah 52:7-12 NLT)
