"Pointing Fingers"

"Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he." (John 9:9 KJV)

"Then David confessed to Nathan, "I have sinned against the LORD." Nathan replied, "Yes, but the LORD has forgiven you, and you won't die for this sin. Nevertheless, because you have shown utter contempt for the LORD by doing this, your child will die."" (2 Samuel 12:13-14 NLT)

For the sake of time, I will skip all of the mushy stuff, and get right to the point: God is just! What that means, is that He does justice according to His standards: He will judge right and wrong! Without any question, when God says that you are guilty, you are guilty, no two ways about it!

You cannot blame it on anyone else, although you might try, because God has His finger on you! Now what? If you know that you are exposed, and you have no one to blame; what do you do? God is just! Thank goodness for the justice of our loving GOD!

In the story spoken of above, David mourned and prayed for the child, while the child was alive; but as soon as he was told the child was dead, he stopped, washed himself off, and ate. As far as David was concerned, that child was now okay, because he had gone to be with the LORD. In David's mind, the child was too young and was innocent of sin; having not reached an age of accountability.

We have been redeemed from the penalty of our sins! But we are still accountable for our sins, in that we must confess them, and ask God for forgiveness; and He is just, to forgive them! That is the finger that I want pointing to me! My Just God, pointing to me, and saying, "Look what I did!"

Don't you know that you are God's treasure...?

""The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure that a man discovered hidden in a field. In his excitement, he hid it again and sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field."" (Matthew 13:44 NLT)
