"Wondrous Power" -2

"Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power." (Psalms 150:1)

When it comes to understanding where this puts us, as God's children, it puts us in Him; He is the Sanctuary! The word used for sanctuary is the word, "godesh," which is a masculine noun that speaks of holy things, holiness, hollowed, and consecrated. If you would like to imagine what this might look like in action, if that were even remotely possible, it would be the kind of holy illustrated in the vision that Peter received when God showed him that sheet descending from heaven and filled with all sorts of food, where God says, "Rise, Peter; kill and eat." Many believe that this was God telling Peter that it was okay to eat every kind of animal, creepy thing, or bird; but it was God showing Peter that it was more than acceptable for him, being a Jew, to go into the house of a Gentile and have fellowship with them, and to give them the Good News about Jesus Christ! God tells Peter, "What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common." (Acts 10:15) The sanctuary that is being spoken of is not a place, as if it were something that we could step into; it is apartness, as in something that God has set apart, declaring it holy and sacred; sanctified because He has made it so, based upon His will and purposes. If you are so inclined, it is the same as the inner court of the Temple, which was to be considered the most holy place; it was so, because that is what God said it was, therefore, that is what it was and had to be: So let it be written, so let it be done; that kind of explains why it is a masculine noun, because it is a thing that does not get challenged, because it is His, and He is God! So, by now, your beginning to see where this puts us as His children, and why it is so hard for anyone to take us from His hand! That is backed up be the firmament of his power; which basically means, that it is a place that is unreachable and unobtainable; a place that is so secure and powerful, nothing or anyone can change anything that He has established to be what He has called it to be! You have really got to love that way God takes care of His children, because this is talking about you and me...

"And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day." (Genesis 1:6-8)
