"To Be Consumed"

"He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow." (Psalms 147:18)

As for as the word, "cold," goes, there might be a little mystery associated with that word after all; if you are into the principle of preparation, as in, God's preparation of His servants to listen or take notice. I know, you are probably thinking that thing I hear so often: Here you go again, spiritualizing the text! Well, it is really not anything that I might be ashamed of, because if truth be told, it was the Holy Spirit that actually wrote everything we are reading; so let us let the Spirit speak! Actually, I was thinking of something that is pretty cool, as in, "the cool of the day." We can find that phrase in the garden, as Adam and Eve hid themselves from God, because they were ashamed. This might be a little hard to visualize, but if there are any indications of conviction, I am pretty sure this process matches up pretty close with what both of them felt in the cool of that day! Personally, I know for a fact when I sin, so I hardly ever need God to remind me when it happens; neither did Adam and Eve; they were totally and completely convicted, so much so, they tried as hard as they could to cover up their sin. Just so you know, both Adam and Eve are going to be in heaven when we get there, because they were forgive of their sins! I know it might not have looked so good at the time, but there was something that took place, which caused there to be repentance and forgiveness. That said, there is still a little matter of consequences; something we tend to sometimes overlook. How do I know? you might have asked? Another little discovery; one that was actually made by Adam...

"Then the man -Adam -named his wife Eve, because she would be the mother of all who live. And the LORD God made clothing from animal skins for Adam and his wife. Then the LORD God said, "Look, the human beings have become like us, knowing both good and evil. What if they reach out, take fruit from the tree of life, and eat it? Then they will live forever!" So the LORD God banished them from the Garden of Eden, and he sent Adam out to cultivate the ground from which he had been made. After sending them out, the LORD God stationed mighty cherubim to the east of the Garden of Eden. And he placed a flaming sword that flashed back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life." (Genesis 3:20-24) NLT
