"...To God's Sure Word"

"The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea." (Psalms 93:4)
There is something you need to realize about what happen in the Garden, the only ones who were surprised by what went down were Adam, Eve, and the serpent; God knew all along everything that was going to happen. My mom would always make strong demands of me, things like, "Stay out of my room while I am at the store!" And for whatever reason, I just had to at least try to see what was the big deal; like, maybe there was something in there that she didn't want me to see, or some hidden secret gift she was going to spring on us later. It never failed, if I went into her room, she always knew; and she never asked why first, she always asked if I did, saying, "Did you go into my room after I told you not to?" I am pretty sure that's what happened. God never had to ask why, He already knew. He knows our heart; He knows what we are going to do before we even know it ourselves, before we can even think it. God is never surprised by our actions; disappointed maybe, but never surprised. You might wonder how that works; how it is that God can be disappointed yet not surprised. We always have a choice, and God, being the Loving Father that He is, always holds out for us to make the right choice, even if He knows we are going to make the wrong one. That's the "whomsoever" in the whole predestination thing that we just don't understand. We can't wrap our heads around, but we had better not push it out of hearts! God never says no to redemption! If we ask Him to forgive us, He is always willing and able to do so; always! Take a moment and enjoy what forgiveness is all about. Think back to all the sins you could ever imagine having done and relate that to the "noise of many waters." Now imagine that noise rising up like "mighty waves" which are far to powerful for you to overcome. That my friend is our state prior to forgiveness; there is absolutely nothing that we can do to stop the crushing mighty waves, absolutely nothing! But God, like a Strong Mighty Fortress that He is, can make those mighty waves disappear with just a Word, and we only need to ask. Don't be afraid, just ask...
"As evening came, Jesus said to his disciples, "Let's cross over to the other side of the lake." So they took Jesus in the boat and started out, leaving the crowds behind (although other boats followed). But soon a fierce storm came up. High waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water. Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, "Teacher, don't you care that we're going to drown?" When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Silence! Be still!" Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. Then he asked them, "Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?" The disciples were absolutely terrified. "Who is this man?" they asked each other. "Even the wind and waves obey him?"" (Mark 4:35-41) NLT
