"...To God's Majestic Name"

"Thy testimonies are very sure: holiness becometh thine house, O LORD, for ever." (Psalms 93:5)
When it comes to proving God does exist, there are certain things which must be remembered when we are confronted with the challenge; the most important one of all is, we don't need to prove that He does exist! If anyone has chosen to believe that God does not exist, it is because they have made that choice in their own heart, with much effort I might add; it does not just happen naturally, they must refuse to accept the fact that they are created, and they must deny what their heart tells them about there being a Creator. It's really plan and simple: all creation knows that it is part of something majestic and that it has been created, it's the natural way everything works and does what God has made it to do. If a man or woman chooses to deny that there is a Creator, they have denied what they know to be the truth in their hearts. We are not talking about understanding who God is, but just the simple fact that there is a God; we pick and choose what God might be based upon life experiences and what we have been told; but to deny God's existence altogether takes effort and the ability to deny the truth. Now let's bump that up a level, and let's talk about the heart that denies Jesus. I can recall singing songs to church when I was a little boy, maybe age five or six; I can recall seeing the picture of Jesus standing at the door, knocking; but I cannot recall when I decided not to accept Him as who He was and is. It must have been when I was more like ten or eleven. I never stopped believing in God; I even challenged my teacher in fifth grade, as we came into the classroom to see a poster on the wall which showed the evolution of man from a monkey to a man. Therefore, I must conclude in my heart and mind, that believing in God and knowing God are two totally different matters. We are not born knowing God, not until we are actually born again! (John 3:3) We are born into this world spiritually separated from God; born in sin, we are separated by our sinful natures. God's Holiness does not allow Him to have fellowship with sinful man; like a fire will consume a blade of grass, there is no way that the two can be together. This is where we discover our need for our Savior, by our ability to stand in Holiness, or our lack thereof...
"Since we believe human testimony, surely we can believe the greater testimony that comes from God. And God has testified about his Son. All who believe in the Son of God know in their hearts that this testimony is true. Those who don't believe this are actually calling God a liar because they don't believe what God has testified about his Son. And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God's Son does not have life. I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life." (1 John 5:9-13) NLT
