"...To God's Sure Word" -2

"The LORD is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea."
(Psalms 93:4)
Now, I don't know what you have been told, but when Jesus says we are going to go to the other side, we are going to go to the other side. It's really not a question how we get there, as much as we would like to think it is; it's all about Jesus having said that we were going to the other side, period! There are days when I let my inabilities get in the way of my security in Christ. It's not because I don't have faith enough to rise above it, it's because life can be such a distraction from where I need to keep my focus. That might be why some men and women join a Monastery, to stay focused. I really do cherish these first few hours of each morning, but I only wish what I feel could keep with me all throughout the day. Usually by about noon time, I am to busy trying to catch up with work, I don't even realize my focus has been put back on the world. If there is one thing that I have learned over these last seven years, it's that God's word is sure; if you want to find something that does not change, something you can go to and not need to worry that it will disappoint your desire to be comforted, no matter what you are facing or going through, God's word is sure! Please don't misunderstand me, I am not trying to say that just reading God's word will cure all of your discomfort and fears; because you have got to have the Holy Spirit dwelling within you in order to complete the package. Without the Holy Spirit what you are reading is just words, pages upon pages of printed words; although they might bring some temporary comfort, without the Holy Spirit they do not take root into your life; and if they don't take root in your life, then there is nothing there to grow by. At the first sign of a storm, your life will be focused back on your surroundings and taken off of God's promises. God's promises are more sure than anything that this world might dish out, including death! Now about that mighty crashing wave, the one that was imagined from yesterday. Jesus defeated sin on the cross; He defeated it by taking all the sins of the world upon Himself and dying for those sins, once and for all. We have no excuse whatsoever for holding on to any sin, because they have all been dealt with on the cross and Jesus has finished every work required to satisfy the penalty of our sins. I don't know what that might mean for you, but for me, it means I am going to the other side...
"All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united in Christ. Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son. He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins." (Ephesians 1:3-7) NLT
