"Hold Onto Jesus" -2

"If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with Him in Glory." (Colossians 3:1-4) What need have we of anything else, but to be right with God? For if we are dead in Christ, the life that we have, we have in Him; therefore, what life should we be living for? "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." If we really look hard into that which was created within us, what we will see is Light; Light that is eternal, and has Life. This is not some mystical hoopla, because it is real and it is obtainable; but it is only obtainable in Jesus Christ. Where we have gone was from death, to death, to life; for we were dead in our sins, doomed for an eternal separation from God; then we were crucified with Christ, wherein that body of sinful flesh was made dead to the rudiments of the Law and made free from the bondage whereby it's ordinances had us captured; being raised up with Christ in a life that is not bound to this old way of living, where we are held by the physical and material things of this world; but are held to a glorious and eternal life that is in Jesus Christ, which is what we hold onto! It is this eternal life that we have been given in Jesus Christ that keeps us bound to Him, for He is eternal; which many people just can not get a hold of. Many see Jesus as the child born in the manger to become the sacrifice for our sins; but they do not see Him as the Creator, the First and the Last, the Great I Am, and the Life!!! When Paul uses the expression in verse one of Colossians 3, "sitteth on the right hand of God", it is an expression that is meant to imply that whoever is placed at his right hand by him who is of importance is to be recognised of equal dignity and given equal honor with himself. Therefore, Jesus seated at the right hand of God, expresses His Deity as being One with God; and because there is only One God, then they are both One in the Same; therefore, when we look to the life that we have been given, it is altogether proper and essential to see Jesus Christ as the Giver of this life. And because He is the Giver of this life that we have been given, then we must hold onto Him with all of our might, which requires that we "set our affection" on Him; which means that we are of one mind with Him...
