"The Truth is Obvious"

"And when they found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither?" (John 6:25 KJV)

"Once again a message came to me from the LORD: "Son of man, give your people this message: 'When I bring an army against a country, the people of that land choose one of there own to be a watchman. When the watchman sees the enemy coming, he sounds the alarm to warn the people. Then if those who hear the alarm refuse to take action, it is their own fault if they die. They heard the alarm but ignored it, so the responsibility is theirs. If they had listened to the warning, they could have saved their lives. But if the watchman sees the enemy coming and doesn't sound the alarm to warn the people, he is responsible for their captivity. They will die in their sins, but I will hold the watchman responsible for their deaths.'"" (Ezekiel 33:1-6 NLT)

As many of you know, I am pretty stuck on the fact that we must read the Bible word for word. It is the whole reason that I am so faithful to attend Calvary Chapel's, because that is typically what most of them do, teaching the Bible, line upon line, precept upon precept, one Book at a time! This is primarily what it means to teach the Bible; but the greatest part of this method, is that the Teacher also gets taught, the whole Truth!

You really can't dodge the truth is you are taking in everything that God's word says; especially if you are exploring all of wonderful messages, as well as the warnings. Even if the message is a little off, the Teacher, like the watchman, has an obligation to teach or share the truth; otherwise, the Teacher will be responsible for not sharing what they know, and telling the people what God has shown in His word.

Basically, it all comes down to this: God's word is not something that is mysterious and hard to understand; not when you actually read though it! If you jump around, picking topics, or just looking for feel good messages, the rest of what you don't read will not make any sense; and if it does make any sense, you are probably not going to like what it has to say.

I have heard Pastor Mike say this over and over: 'If you were the only person on an island and all you had to read was a Bible, then you would learn the Truth!' The Truth is obvious because God makes it easy for us to understand Him, if we would just listen...

"Now, however, Israel is led by drunks who reel with wine and stagger with alcohol. The priests and the prophets stagger with alcohol and lose themselves in wine. They reel when they see visions and stagger as they render decisions. Their tables are covered with vomit; filth is everywhere. "Who does the LORD think we are?" they ask. "Why does he speak to us like this? Are we little children, just recently weaned? He tells us everything over and over - one line at a time, one line at a time, a little here, and a little there!" So now God will speak to his people through foreign oppressors who speak a strange language! God has told his people, "Here is a place of rest; let the weary here. This is a place of rest." But they would not listen." (Isaiah 28:7-12 NLT)
