"The Son Giveth"

"For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world." (John 6:33 KJV)

"This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief." (1 Timothy 1:15 KJV)

Before I quit, (as if that is even an option,) I want to make this perfectly clear: God knows every thought of our heart, so there is really nothing we can try to get away with; and there is surely nothing we can try to pretend we believe in, if we truly don't believe it. That said, I know for a fact that doubt, in and of itself, is technically a sin; if you fall short on anything pertaining to God's laws and requirements, that is what you should consider to be sin!

As I have been taught, this New Covenant is based upon a new set of rules and requirements; previously everything was based upon the Law of Moses: The Ten Commandments. I remember studying those as a child, having opened up the Family Bible, finding that they were positioned right in the middle, as if it were the center of the entire Book. Obviously, that must have been a Catholic Bible, because we know that the Ten Commandments are found in Exodus chapter Twenty; which is really towards the beginning of the Book.

Now, according to Jesus' own words, there are two rules that we must live by: "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On theses two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." (Mattthew 22:37-40 KJV)

So then, let me take this opportunity to ask: How is that going for you in your life? Are you loving God with all you got? Do you love your neighbor as yourself? Can you say in all honesty, that you haven't yelled at someone this last week, or put anyone's cares below those of your own? Forget about the week, how about within the last 24 hours!

Yes, it is abundantly clear: we are still sinners, each and every one of us still need a Savior! If you might have noticed, Paul is speaking to Timothy in the present, "of which I am chief." This sounds as if it should be something of a non-issue, seeing that all of sins have been washed away; but we still sin! Truth be told, it is still part of who we are, but it has been weakened, to a certain extent. Depending on what you live for and what you want to be governed by, this is more a matter of choice, than it is part of what we will to happen.

Why is any of this relevant? THE LIFE! It is the life that Jesus gives to us, which is of God! It is right there, living inside of us, from the very moment that we first believed! This life, much like any other life, it needs to be feed, nourished, cared for, and invested into; if we fail to attend to the new life, the old life will gladly take over!

Something to think about, if you are looking for the answer for reasons of doubt! I doubt I can do what I should do, if I keep doing what I should not do: DUH...

"We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning, who we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life. This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and proclaim to you that he is the one who is eternal life. He was with the Father, and then he was revealed to us. We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ. We are writing these things so that you may fully share our joy." (1 John 1:1-4 NLT)
