"No Fillings"

"The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver." (Psalms 119:72)

It is really pretty obvious what has the greatest value; God's word is going to win out unhandily, again and again. There are things written in the Bible that just now science is finally beginning to agree with; things that were previously undetectable, but that the Bible spelled out for us, thousands of years ago. When it comes to us getting our teeth into the word of God, the current status of this world could not convince us anymore; the more unstable this world becomes, the more secure God's word becomes! The word for "law" above is the word 'towarh.' Much like the word for "word" in the first verse, "Thou has dealt well with thy servant, O LORD, according to thy word," they both are nouns, and they both include results, both good and bad, depending upon how our choices are made. This is the law associated with the word of God: God speaks and we either choose to obey or we don't! The Word is a masculine noun, the Law is a feminine noun; one is constant, while the other is reactionary or the result of the other. You cannot buy a better result, even if you tried! Even if you had all the money in the world, the law of God's mouth is better, and the long term result cannot be matched! This is why Jesus used money to express His illustration about serving two masters. Money is always needed to buy or sell anything; and buying and selling is needed for almost everyone to stay alive. But money must be our servant, not our master. The word Jesus uses for money, is the word 'mammon' which is the same as treasure or riches. If God has blessed you with treasure or riches, He has done so that you might use it to better serve your fellowman; your money is to be a blessing to others. I always look at it like a faucet, and I want the faucet opened wide! The more you bless others, the more you get blessed. The same is the result for sharing God's word; the more you share God's word with others, the more God's word will fill you up. This is the law of the Word of God! It might be simple to say, but as with anything that needs to be put into motion, it must have hands and feet...

""The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure that a man discovered hidden in a field. In his excitement, he hid it again and sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field. "Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant on the lookout for choice pearls. When he discovered a pearl of great value, he sold everything he owned and bought it!"" (Matthew 13:44-46) NLT
