"The Master's Hand"

"How many are the days of thy servant? When wilt thou execute judgment on them that persecute me?" (Psalms 119:84)

There are only a few things in this life that we are guaranteed, and they are not all that pleasant. If you really stop and think about it, the hope in the life to come is getting better and better the more we stick around. Here is the thing that God is speaking into my heart today, that if nothing else can give us comfort in this life, it is that which He has promised us, and His promise does not apply to this life! I am being totally serious; peace is something available to those that can withstand the storms; joy is something that comes to those that focus upon Heaven; and hope, hope is something that is not attached to anything that we are currently attached to, it is in a place far beyond our current reach! Does that sadden me, in the least? Absolutely not! If there is one thing that I have learned, it is that Heaven is where my salvation is, and it is way beyond mine, or anyone else's reach. You can do to me whatever you want, but you cannot take away my salvation! Secondly, the servant is never greater than his Master! What that implies, is the fact that Jesus suffered persecution, so we can pretty much expect to suffer some persecution also. If they hated Jesus, and you are a follower of Jesus, then they will hate you too! Own it proudly, because it is an honor that you should have comfort in. As a matter of fact, we are told to pray for those that persecute us, because their fate, if they do not convert, is far greater than ours...

"Seventy years are given to us! Some even live to eighty. But even the best years are filled with pain and trouble; soon they disappear, and we fly away. Who can comprehend the power of your anger? Your wrath is as awesome as the fear you deserve. Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom." (Psalms 90:10-12) NLT
