"Above It All"

"The earth, O LORD, is full of thy mercy: teach me thy statutes." (Psalms 119:64)

To make some better sense of all of this, a godly man must be willing to learn and to be instructed. My mom would always tell me I was hard-headed and that it would not go well with me if I did not listen. Listening may not be my biggest problem; I love to listen to everything I can hear, it is what I do with what I listen to that really matters. We might not be earth dwellers, but we are living here on this place many refer to as, "God's Green Earth." If there is one thing that we need to come away with in all of this, it is the fact that this earth is the Lord's and everything, including the things that are ugly and wicked, they all belong to the Lord, Christ Jesus! There is nothing that is not His, absolutely nothing. Listening to a pastor speaking yesterday, I heard him say that he has no way to tell which people are those that will be saved and those that will not, so he must be willing to share with every single person that he meets. Regardless of who you are or what you might do for a living, if you have been born again, you first duty in the world around you is to reconcile people to God. The Holy Spirit that lives within you is there to reconcile people to God! The whole point of the cross was to make it so Jesus could reconcile people to God; so if we have been put under the cross of Christ, then that is the power that is to be manifested into our lives, reconciliation! If there was any way that I could put this to make better sense, it would be for us to realize that the Father sees us as holy. If we are washed in the blood of His Son, then He does not see our sins, but He sees us as if we have never sinned. It is that same way of observation that we must utilize when we think of who it is that needs to be reconciled to God: Everyone! Bottom line (for my learning), others first in every situation! If you want to display the character of a godly man or woman, then make that your passion: Others First...

"At that time Jesus prayed this prayer: "O Father, Lord of Heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike. Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way! "My Father has entrusted everything to me. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him." Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light."" (Matthew 11:25-30) NLT
