"Out to Lunch"

"For they have devoured Jacob, and laid waste his dwelling place." (Psalms 79:7) It might not seem right, but who will stand when the others run and take cover? Maybe it might have been the passion of being made new, but I really did have several years of boldness and standing in the gap for the lost. If you don't know what that means, it is when you put yourself out there, being bound to nothing else but presenting the Good News that Jesus can set us free from sin. Not that we are not still able to sin, because we will and do all the time; but we are not bound by sin, because the chains of sin have been utterly destroyed. Can anyone see where this might be going? I know that I have shared this before, but in marriage, the husband is responsible for providing love to his wife; while the wife is subject to responding and loving him back, with respect. That might not fit well in this modern day culture, but it's the model of a good strong relationship between a husband and wife. Now, if it's gone bad over the years, and the marriage lacks love in the relationship, who is to blame? We can agree to disagree on the issue dissatisfaction, but when it comes to love, there is only one who holds the strings in that regard. You don't see it that way? Yes, it pretty obvious that you're not alone. I can't convince anyone who does not want to be responsible for their own actions, or lack therefor; but just when did you become so uninterested in winning the love of your wife? Don't feel offended, because the wife is not totally blameless in this picture; as a matter of fact, she is much like the church in relationship with the Lord. We have only one way to look for the answers to all of our problems, Jesus! If you can't find the answer, then you're not looking in the right direction...
"I ask then, has God rejected his own people, the nation of Israel? Of course not! I myself am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham and a member of the tribe of Benjamin. No, God has not rejected his own people, whom he chose from the very beginning. Do you realize what the Scriptures say about this? Elijah the prophet complained to God about the people of Israel and said, "LORD, they have killed your prophets and torn down your alters. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me, too." And do remember God's reply? He said, "No, I have 7,000 others who have never bowed down to Baal!" It is the same today, for a few of the people of Israel have remained faithful because of God's grace -his undeserved kindness in choosing them. And since it is through God's kindness, then it is not by their good works. For in that case, God's grace would not be what it really is -free and undeserved." (Romans 11:1-6) NLT
