"Progression"

"Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: Thou settlest the furrows thereof: Thou makest it soft with showers: Thou blessest the springing thereof." (Psalms 65:10) There are few things in life that really stand out as things you can be sure of, nothing is more sure than the fact that rain brings forth life; without the rain, things tend to die off, and before you know it, things just don't grow anymore. No matter what level you might be as a believer, whether you are a new believer, or a burned out pastor, God is always going to keep moving you forward; you might get settled into something for a season, but sooner or later God is going to make you move. That is what I believe is the main difference between those that truly are saved and those that are not: God has a way of keeping you moving towards the goal. You might not think that you have a goal, but each and everyone of His children actually have the same goal, which is to be made into the image of His Son. None of us are actually there yet, at least none of us that are still here; but there is the fruit of what it means to be born again, you are, in one way or another, being changed, molded, or stretched, to be conformed into the image of Jesus Christ. But you might say, I don't feel as though God is doing anything in my life; and if that is you, you just need to be watered! That's all; just pick up your Bible, dust it off, and start reading!!! But you might say, I am already reading my Bible; then read it some more; read it like you mean it to be the breath of your life; read it like your life depends upon every word that is written! Sometimes God will let us settle, just so we can be thirsty for His fellowship; just so we will feel as though we need something more. But God is not done with you yet! You have got to believe that, because He has promised to complete His work in you, all the way to the very end, one way or another...
"And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow Him. Let your roots grow down into Him, and let your lives be built upon Him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. Don't let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ. For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority. When you came to Christ, you were "circumcised," but not by a physical procedure. Christ performed a spiritual circumcision - the cutting away of your sinful nature. For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with Him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead." (Colossians 2:6-12) NLT
