"Obstinance" -2

"By terrible things in righteousness wilt Thou answer us, O God of our salvation; who art the confidence of the ends of the earth, and of them that are afar off upon the sea;" (Psalms 65:5) I don't know if you have ever been there or not, but it takes on a whole new adventure when your about 1,500 miles out to sea; it pretty much does not matter any more how far out you get, because at that point, your toast without a boat. It's kind of like when your in a plane, once your up at cruising altitude, what the heck, just enjoy the ride; but it's the ascending and descending parts of the ride that make you uncomfortable. That's what we must understand about our salvation, is that God has removed that from our inability to overcome! Not that there are not some things that we need to work out, because there are; but He has taken us from darkness to light! There are not transformations we make to get from the darkness to the light: we were in darkness, and He has removed us from the darkness, and He brought us into His Light; there are no fifty shades of grey, it's either you are in darkness or the Light, in between the two does not exist, except in our minds. There is something we need to understand about our "eternal security", if that is what you want to call it, because it's not so much that we cannot lose our salvation, it's more about the Light being impossible to overcome with darkness, no matter how hard you might try, because you have been relocated!!! It's like the "Prodigal Son" who wound up in the pig-pen, he was not a pig, he was a son of the King, who just so happened to make some wrong choices, but he never stopped being the son; his mailing address never changed, he still got his mail in his Father's house! We do not clean ourselves up first and then come to God for salvation; He saves us first, and then He works out the wrinkles; we just need to sit back and enjoy the ride...
"What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Since He did not spare even His own Son but gave Him up for us all, won't He also give us everything else? Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for His own? No one - for God Himself has given us right standing with Himself. Who then will condemn us? No one - for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and He is sitting in the place of honor at God's right hand, pleading for us. Can anything ever separate us from Christ's love? Does it mean He no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, "For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.") No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ Jesus, who loved us." (Romans 8:31-37) NLT
