"The Division"

"And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me." (John 12:32 KJV)

"The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God. As the Scriptures say, "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and discard the intelligence of the intelligent." So where does this leave the philosophers, the scholars, and the world's brilliant debaters? God has made the wisdom of this world look foolish. Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe." (1 Corinthians 1:18-21 NLT)

In case you were wondering about the title, you should probably know, "all," means ALL! Yes, all men, and all women; everyone is drawn towards the cross, in one way or another. The dividing that takes place from the message of the cross, is the message that they receive from it, and whether or not they will believe that it is their only way to be made right with God!

Before I was saved, I knew about the cross, even had worn a cross for a period of time, as if that was a statement of belief. But I never really understood the significance or power which was represented from knowing what it meant, and why Jesus hung on that cross, in the first place. To me, it was basically just a symbol of being part of something spiritual, as were several other images and figures, like Budda, or the Star of David.

Once I understood the message of the cross, it changed me completely! Just like that, the message became like a powerful magnet; some were drawn to the message, and some were repelled away from the message, depending on whether they were receptive or offended by what I had to share. That is the division which is real and present in the human heart!

Basically, it comes down to the free will that God has established, since the very beginning. He allows us to make up our own mind, as to whether or not we receive the gift of His salvation! It is really just that simple, you either accept it or you don't. Those that do accept it, get eternal life; those that do not accept it, are stuck in damnation...

""God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God's one and only Son. And the judgment is based on this fact: God's light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants."" (John 3:17-21 NLT)
