"A Certain Man"

"Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha." (John 11:1 KJV)

"God's way is perfect. All the LORD'S promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection. For who is God except the LORD? Who but our God is a solid rock?" (Psalm 18:30-31 NLT)

Sometimes we miss the anointing of God's peace and joy upon our lives because we are focus too much upon the hurt or discomfort, we might be suffering, either by our own sickness, or the sickness of someone we love. Not to make light of something that might be devastating in someone's life; but if you are a child of God, something devastating needs to be looked at through the Light!

I know, what do I know? I know for a fact, God does not allow us to go through anything that we cannot handle, as long as we stay close to Him! Actually, if you really want to know, I believe most of what we suffer through, be it sickness or otherwise, is to draw us closer and closer to Him. The Refiner's Fire, if you will, that refines the gold, bringing the slug to the top, to scrape it off.

Now about that peace and joy, it is always there, we just don't know it, because we don't choose to share it! Amazingly, as soon as we figure out what happens when we share the peace and joy of the Lord, we can actually feel the power it gives us to overcome the despair and suffering we might otherwise be experiencing.

It surely isn't rocket science, because this world cannot understand it, nor does it accept it as credible or real; but the peace and joy of the Lord is more real than anything this world might hand out! That my friend is for certain...

"Therefore, since we have been made right in God's sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of underserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God's glory." (Romans 5:1-2 NLT)
