"Spiritual Blindness"

"When Jesus heard what happened, he found the man and asked, "Do you believe in the Son of Man?"

The man answered, "Who is he, sir? I want to believe in him."

"You have seen him," Jesus said, "and he is speaking to you!"

"Yes, Lord, I believe!" the man said. And he worshipped Jesus.

Then Jesus told him, "I entered this world to render judgment - to give sight to the blind and to show those who think they see that they are blind."

Some of the Pharisees who were standing nearby heard him and asked, "Are you saying we're blind?"

"If you were blind, you wouldn't be guilty," Jesus replied. "But you remain guilty because you claim you can see."" (John 9:35-41 NLT)

"Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; and were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; and did all eat the same spiritual meat; and did all drink the same spiritual drink; for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ." (1 Corinthians 10:1-4 KJV)

Okay, so we think that everything is going to be well, and that all is going according to plan? I know that everything for me will be fine; but what about the others, those who don't see, that can't see; those that think they can see, but are totally blind to the truth because their hearts are shut off from their Creator, the One that Created them!

This is really not a time to feel comfortable and sheltered; this is the time to speak out for the truth, for those things that matter most: God's love for the lost and the judgment that is soon to come! Nothing really matters more than those two things right now, because it will be happening!

As I was praying this morning, I thought about the innocent children being dragged into the evilness, unsuspecting and unaware of what or why; and I couldn't help but think of the judgment that awaits those that are pulling them into that darkness. Even they, as evil as they might be, can turn and fall upon the mercy and grace that Jesus offers!

Wow! If only they could see...

""For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God's one and only Son. And the judgment is based on this fact: God's light came into this world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants."" (John 3:16-21 NLT)
