"Spiritual Blindness" - Too

"Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is." (John 7:27 KJV)

"Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD might in battle." (Psalms 24:8 KJV)

Not sure how they do it now, but when I was saved, back in 1981, if we didn't have a Bible we were given one, and who ever gave a Bible instructed us to start by reading the Gospel of John. John's gospel deals with the deity of Christ Jesus: where He came from, His eternal being, the power that He had, and the power that He stepped away from to come and be killed for our sins.

As far as I am concerned, this is the beginning of Spiritual Sight! If we truly do not know Jesus was, is, and forever will be, then we are missing a major part of the puzzle: THE PICTURE! Instead, we are just matching puzzle pieces up by the shape they match up to, instead of the pieces that actually fit into the picture.

These people that doubted Jesus could be the Christ, did so because they could not see beyond what they knew of His human nature. As Matthew Henry puts it: "But then it is not true that as for this man they knew whence he was, for they knew not his divine nature, not how the Word was made flesh."

Basically, what John points out, sometimes boldly, sometimes in hidden messages, is the divine nature of Jesus, being the Son of God! This is very important for us to know and understand, because it is and always will be the Key to eternal life...

"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." (1 John 5:13 KJV)
