"Beyond Just" -2

"The LORD is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked." (Psalms 129:4)

Secondly, and most importantly, it is all His work, every last part of it; from the making of this new man, it the very finish; He has found me, saved me, put His protection upon me, and has secured my place in Heaven for all eternity. And, guess what else I believe, since we are talking about keeping some sort of measurement: He does not keep track of all my stupid failures and disappointments! Just like that closing Scripture from yesterday, I can take so much comfort in understanding how that works: just give yourselves over to His love for you, knowing how much He loves and resting in His love. It does not matter what you have done or how far you have fallen, if the God that judges you is the same God that loves you, where else do you go and what else can you do, but run into His loving arms! Think about this situation with Jacob and the Lord, as they wrestled together all night, and what the Lord said, "Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed." (Genesis 32:28) No matter what you think this looks like, if you want a fight that you cannot loose, then you need to fight with God, the God that loves you no matter what! Let me try and break this down, because I feel that the real meaning gets lost in the conversation. This is considered to be, "A Prayer Against the Enemies Of Israel," and as such, one of the key ingredients to the power of prayer is faith. James makes this abundantly clear, saying, "But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering: For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed." (James 1:6) The enemies of Israel can come in all shapes and sizes; they can even reside within our own hearts and mind: thoughts that doubt God's calling, render ourselves to be without hope, and give in to the distractions of the real enemy, the father of all lies. We look to the power we might have, instead of understanding, when we are weak, He is strong! If we do not fight with God, we do not win the battle! No matter what kind of battle you think you are in, just a little touch from God and that battle is done! But more importantly, if you think that you have lost, you have actually won; because He is righteous, and He is on your side; no pun intended...

"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For our weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled." (2 Corinthians 10:3-6)
