"CHETH"

"Thou art my portion, O LORD: I have said that I would keep thy word." (Psalms 119:57)

Still sharing of the law of God, we look at the character of a godly man. When it comes our place and purpose in this world, nothing speaks more than character. What we are talking about in the way character is displayed, are the qualities distinctive to a man or woman who has God as their portion. It is a little different way of acknowledging that God is your everything. What we can gather from that meaning, is that without God in our lives, life does not have much meaning. It is like having been given a piece of land, but without any rights to that land, the land is pretty much useless and has no significant purpose, other than to look at and admire. God makes all the difference in the reason to live, no matter what experience or trial we might be facing, without God, it is really meaningless. In case you were not aware of this, we were all created to worship; the big difference is who or what we worship in. Even those so called atheist are believing in something; it takes more effort to not believe in God, so in all honesty, it is a religion, regardless what they might say. When it comes to God being our portion, there really is no one else we want to serve or listen to...

"And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." (Joshua 24:15) KJV
