"Relentless" -Too

"Ascribe ye strength unto God: his excellency is over Israel, and his strength is in the clouds." (Psalms 68:34) We might not understand everything, but that is okay also. God knows everything that we need, way before we even have a chance to consider thinking about it. When you think about the time of creation, God first made man, then he caused him to realize that he needed a woman. He could have just made man with his matching counterpart, like He made all the other animals that He made Adam give names to; but that would not have given Adam the chance to see what he was missing. In the Bible, God speaks of man being male and female, then He makes Adam to start out without a mate. Don't you think that God had a reason for that to happen? Don't think for a moment that God all of sudden said, "It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a help meet for him." (Genesis 2:18) God knows everything that He is doing or going to do; He just wanted man to want and appreciate the wife that He was going to give him. Now about that closing Scripture from 1 Peter, it is one of those portions of the Bible that can make the average Christian wonder about where they stand with God; "Be ye holy, for I am holy" is not really something that is easy to do; but then again, keeping all ten of the Ten Commandments is not all that easy either! Yes, there is no doubt that God is relentless for His children; but what He wants from us, is that we might be a little relentless for Him also! That was the point made in Hebrews 12:1 which shows the reason that we cannot give up! We are all flawed and broken; we are all less than perfect in this world. But in the sight of God, well, let's just say that God wears rose colored glasses... "So get rid of all evil behavior. Be done with deceit, hypocrisy, jealousy, and all unkind speech. Like newborn babes, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment, now that you have had a taste of the Lord's kindness. You are coming to Christ, who is the living cornerstone of God's temple. He was rejected by people, but he was chosen by God for great honor. And you are living stones that God is building into his spiritual temple. What's more, you are his holy priests. Through the mediation of Jesus Christ you offer spiritual sacrifices that please God. As the Scriptures say, "I am placing a cornerstone in Jerusalem, chosen for great honor, and anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced." Yes, you who trust him recognize the honor God has given him. But for those who reject him, "The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone." And, "He is the stone that makes people stumble, the rock that makes them fall." They stumble because they do not obey God's word, and so they meet the fate that was planned for them. But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God's very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. "Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God's people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God's mercy."" (1 Peter 2:1-10) NLT
