"And Give Up!"

"Sing unto God, ye kingdoms of the earth; O sing praises unto the Lord. Selah." (Psalms 68:32) You know that your life is not a vacuum, right? We can't just give in and let it go at that; we must also give up! And when I say give up, I don't mean that as giving up on this or that; I mean that we give God the glory!!! And don't you know that He deserves every bit of it! We have nothing to boast about, because God has done it all; even the fact that you finally said yes, is not your own doing; because without the prompting of the Holy Spirit upon your heart, you would still be lost in your sin. It was God that provided the way for us to be reconciled unto Him, and it was also God that caused us to be reconciled by showing us the way home! Now it is time to give God the glory and to fill ourselves up with the glory of God. In Romans 6, Paul gives us the illustration of what this means to be transformed from a sinful vessel to a glorious righteous vessel; and it is based upon grace, not the law! We have been set free from the law, because we have been set free from the bondage of sin; but that does not mean that we no longer have a master, because we do, and our new master is Jesus Christ! Just let go and let God, is not just a catch-phrase for finding peace and joy, it is the way that we make this all work for His glory... "So you should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus. Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to your sinful desires. Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God's grace. Well then, since God's grace has set us free from the law, does that mean we can go on sinning? Of course not! Don't you realize that you become a slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living." (Romans 6:11-16) NLT
