"Just Give In..."

"Princes shall come out of Egypt; Ethiopia shall soon stretch out her hands unto God." (Psalms 68:31) There really is no way to win a war against God, so you had better just give in, and let God have His way in your life! Not that it really matters, but you really did not start this war; it is something that you have been born into, just as if your citizenship in a nation fighting another makes you their enemy. We all have been born under the curse; a curse handed down to us by Adam and his wrong choice, has become what we are without having a choice. But we do have a choice to be delivered! But it is going to be on God's terms, not terms that we establish. There is something about God's way of making a covenant with us, one that we do not get the opportunity to establish or help to create: it is all His way! He makes it so easy because our side of the agreement is to respond to what He says and to just trust Him; we have nothing else to offer but obedience to what He says; we have no plan, no wealth, no hope of doing anything on our own; it's all about what God says, and about our willful obedience. That is probably the most important part of being obedient to God, is that you have got to want to be obedient! Our natural tendency is to want to be disobedient and rebel against anything that tries to control what we desire, or make us do something that we do not want to do. But God has given us His Spirit to make us want what He wants; it just requires us giving in to the will of the Spirit and not keep giving into our own... "If it seems we are crazy, it is to bring glory to God. And if we are in our right minds, it is for your benefit. Either way, Christ's love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life. He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and raised for them. So we stop evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now! This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone: a new life has begun! And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him." (2 Corinthians 5:13-18) NLT
