"Push Comes to Shove" - Too

"Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit." (Ecclesiastes 7:8 KJV)

"When the LORD brought back his exiles to Jerusalem, it was like a dream! We were filled with laughter, and we sang for joy. And the nations said, "What amazing things the LORD has done for them." Yes, the LORD has done amazing things for us! What joy! Restore our fortunes, LORD, as streams renew the desert. Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy. They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest." (PSALM 126 NLT)

I could help but think of how an eagle gets their young to learn how to fly. I know it might not be the perfect illustration of what we see God doing; but it is the one that works in this moment. If you know how it happens, the mother will have her nest way up high, placed in the area where there is plenty of distance from the ground. Then when her young eagles are old enough, she knocks them out of the nest to get them to learn how to fly.

There are certain things we get pulled into, whether it is the Lord's will or not, it will be the Lord's doing that will get us on the right track! Just like that young eagle, we have no clue what we are to do, except to pray that we either will be caught, or maybe hit the ground softly. But once we spread those wings, we see that it is possible, and we realize we have been given what is needed to fly!

You see how that works, as the beginning of this thing seems traumatic; the poor little eagle doesn't know what to think: "Does my mother love me or is she trying to kill me!" Much as we have tribulation and trials, where we wonder, "Is this punishment for my sins, or am I being tested; is God for me, or am I too much of a sinner to be good enough for His kingdom!"

Hopefully those thoughts are not your own; but if they are, you really need to get a grip on the whole meaning of what Jesus came to die for! We are not worthy, but the blood of Jesus Christ has made us worthy, once and for all! He has given us everything we need to learn to be obedient and follow Him; we just need to use what He has given us, believing that it is so.

How many times do we need to go through the same trials, before we get the message? We must keep believing, looking forward to the end; while at the same time, counting on Him to catch us, again and again...

"The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the LORD holds them by the hand." (PSALM 37:23-24 NLT)
