"Know His Strength"

"If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning" (Psalms 137:5)

In this current culture we are living in, is it any wonder that there are still some churches that can really speak out for the Truth? We know that the last days are upon us; even that is something that is rarely spoken outright and in public, for fear of either offending your fellow Christian or for fear of being called a nut. In many places, there are laws in place where you cannot tell someone that they are living in sin; if you do, then you could actually be arrested or fined. As I was thinking about what God would have me share from this verse, I was reminded how powerful God actually is, and how important it is that we do not forget His strength. Do not judge the strength of God by anything that is associated with man; especially when it comes to supernatural things that happen through people, not even the supernatural things that might happen through anything associated with this planet. God is so much bigger than what you think you know! That said, He is also personal to you and I; He knows every single little thing about us; which in and of itself is a pretty awesome example of just how strong and powerful He is. For me, this is about the times when God shows up and changes things. It might be something subtle or something big; it really does not matter what it is, because the matter is us! As big and powerful as He is, He shows up for us! It is not really about Him being this awesome powerful force; it is that this awesome powerful force cares so deeply about each and every one of us! I cannot get over some of these highly educated pastors, the ones that think they know more than anyone else and have it all figured out. Why can't they just accept what the Bible says is truth and not try to justify what God says with man's knowledge? Oh, I get it: It's about pleasing man, not God! If you study the Scriptures, those that spoke the Truth were always persecuted and made fun of; while those that said what men wanted to hear were lifted up and praised. This is actually a pretty serious set of circumstances; because there is someone more important that wants to hear what you have to say; and He does carefully listen...

"A single day in your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else! I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God than live the good life in the homes of the wicked. For the LORD God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The LORD will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right. O LORD of Heaven's Armies, what joy for those who trust in you." (Psalms 84:10-12) NLT
