"In The Know"

"How shall we sing the LORD's song in a strange land?" (Psalms 137:4)

Sometimes you just need to go with what you know! Have you ever wondered where the stars go during the daytime? They never left from where they always were, they are still right there, just as they were, but waiting for us to be able to see them again. Amazing how that works, but the same thing is true with God: He is always right there, waiting for us to see His glory! It really does not matter where you are or where you think you ought to be, God is everywhere and anywhere you are seeking Him; if we can just wait upon Him to reveal Himself. As much as I would like to, I cannot just quit doing what I do; there are consequences for not showing up to appointments, especially when they have been waiting for two weeks, and they are nearing the end of their inspection periods. But, believe you me, there are times I just want to get away and go hide under a rock, the Rock to be more precise. Something Pastor Bryan mentioned yesterday struck a cord, as he spoke about how David had hid out in Ziklag for fear that Saul was going to take his life; Pastor Bryan mentioned briefly that David had lied. Most important thing to know about lies, is that lies are of the devil, the father of all lies. (John 8:44) What part of Saul is going to kill me is a lie? If God has said, "David, you shall rule my people," then from where did David get the idea he was going to get killed by Saul? I guess to all comes down to who it is you are going to believe, God or the devil! How often I get caught in a lie and don't even know it, not at first anyway. It sometimes takes me a few hours to figure it out; maybe even a few days, if I have been on a binge. But the devil is pretty good at making me think that God is done with me, for whatever reason or for whatever sin. Silly me, how do I fall for that same stupid lie, over and over again? At this point in David's life, he had six hundred men, and there families, that were following him; he was leading a small army and had very devoted people all around him. Why then should he live in fear? Another point Pastor Bryan touched on, was that of trusting God; regardless of what you might think or what you have previously felt or experienced, you must trust in the Lord to have your back! This includes the times when you are out of sorts, out of the area, and maybe even out of God's will; no matter where or when, He has your back! If He has told you that you are His child, you are His child! He takes care of His children; that is no lie...

"What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won't he also give us everything else? Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one -for God himself has given us right standing with himself. Who then will condemn us? No one -for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and is sitting in the place of honor at God's right hand, pleading for us." (Romans 8:31-34) NLT
