"Appreciative Children"

"O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy endureth for ever." (Psalms 136:26)

As I was praying about this post last night, I thought about what it must have been like to witness all of those signs and wonders for forty years, growing up in the wilderness. I was being serious about those shoes, because the Bible actually says, "Yet the LORD says, "During the forty years that I led you through the wilderness, your clothes did not wear out, nor did the sandals on your feet." (Deuteronomy 29:5 NIV) In case you were unaware, I usually do not reference the NIV, nor do I ever study out of it; basically, the reason that is so, is because I call it, 'The Nearly Inspired Version'. There are just some things that do not quite reach the bar of drawing the line; as a matter of fact, some of the more important lines are a little blurry. And besides that, almost everyone I know that is living in a strange relationship, meaning they are either gay or dealing with the question of being one, is using the NIV for their spiritual guidance. I'm not saying that everyone who reads it is messed up; but the first thing I look for when I see a Christian who is stuck in that lifestyle, is what Bible they cling to; 99% of the time, it's the NIV. Anywho; what a difference 40 years can make in the life of a child of God; but you would think they would notice how long their clothes and shoes lasted them; or maybe they just didn't pay much attention to the little things like that? But wait just a minute! Didn't Jesus say not to think upon those things, What you would wear? The term 'gay' was just recently used to describe that alternative lifestyle, but originally, it was meant to describe a carefree, cheerful, bright, and showy life. Oddly enough, that is not the only thing which has been been taken over, the rainbow is now a symbol used as a sign for that movement; a sign that God gave to Himself that He would not judge the world with a flood, ever again. Which reminds me, what is this I hear about the people who are pushing the Climate Change idea: That the world is going to be destroyed by a flood! Talk about anyone that is a denier; what a strange time we live in; no one appreciates all that God has done! Well, hopefully you do not fit into that category, because no matter what happens here, the God we serve is the God of Heaven! We can watch this world spin out of control, and try to avoid getting hit be the debris or taken out by the uproar; but do not forget where your true home is located, because it's not here! That is my final say on that matter; whether you are dealing with anything, other the Lord Jesus Christ, between you and your Father in Heaven, it is time to set the record straight and make your stand sure: Are you going to confess Him, or deny Him: It is time to show your appreciation for what He has done...

"I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shown them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even the eternal power and Godhead; so they are without excuse: because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves; who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen." (Romans 1:16-25)
