"Be It Known"

"Pilate therefore went forth again, and said unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him." (John 19:4 KJV)

"So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now! This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone, a new life has begun!" (2 Corinthians 5:16-17 NLT)

After thinking about what it means when we do not respect God, it came to my attention that it is really us that gets harmed by that, because God's love is what we disrespect! Imagine what that looks like, if you can? He holds His arms out to us, wanting to take us in, as His children; we run away, making a total and complete mess of our lives, and end up missing out on something that we need, more than the air that we breath!

All right, I said my piece, as did Pilate to the crowd! "Be it known!" Is the long and short of it; as if it were a surprise, even after he had Jesus scourged and humiliated by his soldiers; he prepares to bring Him out and show that the punishment is on them, because he still thinks that Jesus is innocent! I know, it is weird, but that is how politicians think: everything is our fault, they never do anything wrong, it is all the fault of the people; the complainers, the protester's, the ones who don't follow instructions; we are just subjects, that need to be shown what to do.

I digress! This point of the story is not just ugly, it makes no sense! However, I believe that John is showing this in order to demonstrate how God's will cannot be altered! No matter what we do, or how hard we try, if it is meant to be, then it is meant to be: Period! I know that might sound as if we don't have any choice; but it is always about choice, we just fail to make the right choice, which God already knows that we will do!

What do you want to be? Do you want to be His child, or be lost and thrown in the fire? It's your choice! Where do you see yourself ending up, heaven or hell? Once upon a time, I believed that I was destined for hell; almost even got a tattoo that said it, as if I was proud to be a rebel! But, God, who is not able that any of His be lost, snatched me up and out of the fire, knowing full well that I would fall madly in love with Him!

Doesn't that seem as though we don't have a choice? Well, from this perspective it might, because we don't really know any better! Just know this: When He calls you, you had better make the right choice...

"And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people's sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. So we are Christ's ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, "Come back to God!" For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ." (2 Corinthians 5:18-21 NLT)
