"Mind-Boggling!"

"Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;" (John 16:10 KJV)

"Dear brothers and sisters, the longing of my heart and my prayer to God is for the people of Israel to be save. I know what enthusiasm they have for God, but it is misdirected zeal. For they don't understand God's way of making people right with himself. Refusing to accept God's way, they cling to their own way of getting right with God by trying to keep the law. For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God." (Romans 10:1-4 NLT)

I know, it might not make perfect sense to some, because they just can't see how the death of one man could be enough to take away the sins of the entire world. How is it possible for that to happen? Well, if you need to be enlightened, that is easy to explain, but it is hard to understand; unless you just choose to believe it and accept it as truth!

First and foremost, God is the one that makes the rules! He created everything there is, so He gets to make the rules on what is what; regardless of what we might think about it, it is what it is! In the case of righteousness, God knew from the very beginning of creation that we were not going to be able to achieve righteousness! He foresaw this right from the beginning; but He also had a plan to fix our situation, which was to make a way that His righteousness would be counted for us, because we were never going to be able to achieve righteousness on our own!

There was a play that we had at our church, some 30 years ago, called, "Toy Maker and Son." It was a little different, but the message was pretty clear: God and the Son had made this plan, from the very beginning. Which was really not based on our need, because none of us really cared; but based upon His need to save us, because He loved us so much!

I know that there are so many sceptics, the ones who say, 'If God cares so much, why doesn't He just fix everything and call it good?' Well, He could have created robots and people that had no choice but to love and obey Him; but instead, He wanted to have those that would love Him on their own; not because He said, "Love Me!" but because they really loved Him!

Suddenly, I do believe that it is all too simple, we just make it complicated be our own free will...

""No one has ever gone to heaven and returned. But the Son of Man has come down from heaven. And as Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in him will have eternal life.

"For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.

"There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God's one and only Son. And the judgment is based on this fact: God's light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants."" (John 3:13-21 NLT)
