"God's Servant"

 "These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come, glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee." (John 17:1 KJV)

  ""Look at my servant, whom I strengthen. He is my chosen one, who pleases me. I have put my Spirit upon him. He will bring justice to the nations. He will not shout or raise his voice in public. He will not crush the weakest reed or put out a flickering candle. He will bring justice to all who have been wronged. He will not falter or lose heart until justice prevails throughout the earth. Even distant lands beyond the sea will wait for his instruction."" (Isaiah 42:1-4 NLT)

 If you ever have been to court over something that might put you in jail, then you know that your fate is in the hands of the court. However, for those who are in God's hand, there is really nothing to worry about, because if you are God's servant, you will have the outcome God wants, be where God wants you to be, and will feel good about whatever sentence that you are given. 

 There is more to this than just a prayer; Jesus is the Mediator between us and the Father! The portion of Scripture, from Isaiah 42, was shared on yesterday by Pastor Rick. He spent several minutes setting up his message, asking everyone to forget that the plan God had happened, but instead, place yourself in God's shoes and think of what you would do, having everything you made to be perfect, turn out wrong, over and over again. 

 Of course, there is another side to all of that, in that God already knew firsthand, everything that would go wrong, so the plan was in place, even before anything had happened. But, in the place where we stand, we are dependent upon God's justice! What is justice? Wow, this could take some serious consideration! 

 First of all, there is a starting point to all that was wrong; and it didn't start with Adam when he ate of the fruit. It started with Lucifer and his rebellion against God; taking one-third of the angels in heaven with him. He rebelled against God, as some expect, because he was jealous of mankind, whom God was going to place over the angels. 

 That makes the story a little different, as we are really not the cause of the mess, but a product of the insurrection! You know what I feel about that Tree that was placed in the midst of the garden; the whole thing was based upon the knowledge of good and evil; something Adam had to figure out, based on the wrong choice he had made, to eat the fruit! 

 I really don't want to go any further with that, because this is about what Jesus has done to fix all of that! It could only be a man, meaning someone that took Adam's place, making the right choices, and becoming a Servant, obeying and following all of the Father's instructions. At the same time, He needed to be God, because only God was capable of pulling it off... 

"Yes, Adam's one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ's one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone. Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous." (Romans 5:18-19 NLT)
