"Take a Good Look Inside"

"How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?" (John 5:44 KJV)

"Dear friends, you always followed my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away, it is even more important. Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him." (Philippians 2:12-13 NLT)

Maybe the most critical part of this journey, is the part where we fail to do or not do what pleases God. If there was anything that causes us to question who we are in Christ, it is the fact that we still sin and have not the strength within to get things right. This is the just of life here; but not the way things will be in heaven!

If you wanted to be well, then it is more than possible for God to make you well; but if you still want to hold unto certain sins, then those sins will still cause you to be stuck on stupid! Not that you are stupid, because we already know what God wants and expects; but to be totally honest, we are not ignorant of what we should be doing, so there is only one other word to show our ailment, obtuse!

Here is the point to which Jesus is trying to get these Jewish leaders to see; if that were even possible! The reason that it is not, is because the point He is making, is the same reason that they will not see: they are annoyingly insensitive to the things of God, because they are more focused upon what man thinks. Another definition is that of being slow to understand; which in reality, in a complex spiritual world of doing the Lord's work, insensitivity is kept alive by just staying busy.

Be still and know that He is God; is basically God saying, slow down and let the reality of Me catch up with your life...

"So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don't need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God. You don't need further instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, or eternal judgment. And so, God willing, we will move forward to further understanding." (Hebrews 6:1-3 NLT)
