"He Knows Our Hearts"

"But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men, and needed not that any should testify of man; for he knew what was in man." (John 2:24-25 KJV)

"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings." (Jeremiah 17:9-10 KJV.)

If you have not been following this blog for very long, you might not have been with me when I was going through the Psalms; several years, and many tears; mornings that were stretching me, and turning me inside and out. It was quite an experience; yet within those many days, it was surprising to me how many times the heart was the center of the message. There is something special about the heart: it is the center of what we really are; it is the place of passions, emotions, the human spirit, and where God shows up!

Was it always the way that it is; or did we loose something at the fall? In all of my days of walking with the Lord, I have discovered that His Spirit is what makes us be the person God created us to be; without His Spirit within us, we are lost souls, aimlessly trying to get the most out of life; when all along, it is the Spirit of God living in us that makes our lives complete. So yes, the fall separated man's spirit from God's Spirit; within the actions of that one man, Adam, who became spiritually dead by sin, all that followed Adam were born into sin, and therefore had been spiritually separated from God.

This is why Jesus needed none to testify of man, because He knew full well what was in man's heart; or better yet, He knew what it was that was missing! What's more critical and complex than just that, if you read the verse carefully, Jeremiah 17:10, you have got to understand that man's wickedness goes on and on, way on into the future.

Going forward into this next chapter, it is probably one of the most talked about portions of Scripture in the entire Bible. Most people have seen John 3:16 at one time or another in their lives; many of those people have actually read it, and some have even memorized it. Not many people that have seen it or even read it, know that those words are the words of Jesus Christ.

Not to make a big deal about something that should already be well understood, but if He, the One to whom it is referring to, is also the One that is speaking, referring to Himself, then guess what that means! Please pay close attention; (I am speaking to myself!)...

"For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God." (Ephesians 3:14-19 KJV)
