"The Spirit"

"Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where is listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit." (John 3:7-8 KJV)

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." (Isaiah 55:8-9 KJV)

As to touching the surface of what Jesus is trying to explain to Nicodemus, it is both easy and hard to comprehend; easy, because it involves faith; hard, because you can't see it, you live it! That is pretty much the simplest way to say it. You cannot understand or comprehend how the Holy Spirit works within you, until you are born again and the Holy Spirit is living within you.

Not everyone will experience the same power, but there is also no variation of His power; it just works differently in peoples lives. Some might be changed in some way, others will be drawn into a whole new life; but regardless of how drastic or subtle, there is always the same message and direction that the Holy Spirit will take, to lift up the name of Jesus Christ!

Maybe it might seem hard for some to get that message. It would appear that some do not, as I have been familiar with the reaction of people that think differently, as if it is more important to focus upon the works of the Holy Spirit, than it is to focus upon Jesus Christ. Some even go as far as classifying the gifts as proof of salvation, as if, if you do not speak in tongues, then you do not have the Spirit living in you.

You would think that there is enough clarification of how that works, as Paul went through much of a to-do to make that perfectly clear: Tongues do not prove anything, except they are a gift, not thee gift! To be quite frank, the true gift of the Holy Spirit is love! Something we need more and more of; something that we so easily misplace and hardly remember from where it comes!

That is pretty much how the winds blow: you can hear it, but don't know or understand from where it comes, or to where it goes; but it is always doing the same exact thing: pushing and pulling love...

"Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance." (1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NLT)
